Don’t miss the Dew Tour this December in Breckenridge
If you are looking for an excuse to visit Breckenridge, CO for a ski vacation and want to beat the holiday rush, you’re in luck. One of the largest winter sports competitions is going on right here at Breckenridge Ski Resort from December 13th to the 16th. The Dew Tour is a multi-event snow sports competition where some of the best skiers and snowboarders go head to head. The competition actually starts in August with events from coast to coast, but the championships take place in Breckenridge
Some of the top names in men’s and women’s skiing and snowboarding will descend on Breck this December to compete in a number of superpipe, slopestyle, and big air semi-final and final events. Not only are the events free to the public, but those who want to watch from the comfort of their living room or local bar can catch broadcasts on NBC and NBC Sports. The Dew Tour website will be offering live streaming options and behind-the-scenes content, as well.
Hoping to see some star power? Shaun White will take on the Superpipe, showcasing the skills that earned him Olympic gold. Last year’s champion, Louie Vito, is hoping to earn another victory, but the champion will be up against some tough competitors. The Big Air contest, debuting this year, will bring more big names, including Breckenridge’s own Eric Willett. And catch skiers Simon Dumont and Tanner Hall, as well as 2011 victor Kevin Rolland and local Bobby Brown.
After the lifts close, The Dew Tour will feature concerts, parties, and many other action sports-related activities. The Dew Tour will also feature a Film Night recognizing the most ground breaking and influential films of the season. The Dew Tour Mountain Championships event will include musical performances by hip hop artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis as well as up and coming electronic music group Two Fresh.
