The Denver International Airport first opened its doors in late February of 1995 about 23 miles outside of downtown Denver. Heavily shrouded by conspiracy theories and weird facts, DIA is the only major airport to be built in the U.S. in the last 25 years. Its current size spanning about 53 square miles is enough to accommodate well over 50 million passengers each year and makes it twice as big as Manhattan, the largest airport in North America, and the second largest airport in the world.
The Denver Airport offers non-stop service to 180 destinations throughout North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. The dual-sided terminal building is home to 18 passenger airlines, including American Airlines, Delta, 
Frontier, Southwest and United, with it serving as the main airport hub for Frontier Airlines and the fastest growing market for Southwest. DIA is the 15th busiest airport in the world and the 5th busiest airport in the United States, servicing around 143,990 passengers on about 1,550 flights daily. The infamous tent roof is home to the Jeppesen Terminal and two ticket counter terminals, East and West. West is home to Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airlines, United, US Airlines and more. In the East terminal you will find Delta Airlines, Frontier, Southwest, Spirit Airlines, and more. Denver International Airport is made up of three airside concourses, referred to as A, B, and C gates.
Baggage claim is also located in the Jeppesen Terminal on level 5, with claims on both the east and west sides depending on the airline. Ground transportation can also be found on this level, including the pick-up for Peak 1 Express. If you are using Peak 1 Express airport transportation, you will exit from the east terminal of baggage claim through the sliding doors numbered 515 and head to island 1 to get your shuttle.
If you will be using a rental car, Denver International Airport offers this service from over 10 major companies. Agencies are located on the property and provide complimentary shuttle service to and from Jeppesen Terminal with pick-up and drop-off 
located on level 5, island 4, on both the east and west side. The east side location for pick-up and drop-off is outside of doors 505-513, while the west side location is outside of 504-512.
