Campgrounds include Heaton Bya, Peak One, Prospector, Lowery, and Windy Point Group around the lake but they all require reservations, so planning ahead is a must.

Situated along Lake Dillon, you’ll wake up to some of the best views and be close to Frisco, Dillon, and Breckenridge. Some offer drinking water, toilets, and electrical hookups while others do not so do your research before heading over here so you know what to expect.
Get out of town for the night.
If camping around the Dillon Reservoir is packed you have quite a few options about 30 – 45 minutes outside of the city center. Check out the Blue River Campground, Cow Creek South/North Campground, Cataract Creek Campground, and Willows Campground. All of these are first come first serve with the exception of Cow Creek South which has reservations available.
Disperse Camping in Summit County
Ditch the campground and find some solitude in the mountains at a dispersed camping area. Venture out into the woods and set up your tent or hammock for the evening.
Two very important rules:
- Know the current fire restrictions in your area.
- Pack-in, pack-out. Leave the campsite the way you found it when you first got there.
