Colorado is a wildly popular destination, and, in recent years, has become a crockpot of travelers and residents. It is THE place to go in America. Why? The mountains, the people, things to do, just to name a few reasons. If you are visiting Colorado this summer, you will find no shortage of thrilling adventures to partake in with your travel crew. Here’s a starter list of things to see in Colorado just to help you out:

  1. Coor’s Brewery: This is the place to get the ‘inside scoop’ of Coor’s beer, based here in Golden, Co. Visiting the Coor’s Brewery will give you the opportunity to tour the brewery, learning of the history of Coor’s and the process behind the famous brew. During and after the tour, you will be able to taste test along the way!
  2. Wildlife Sanctuary: The Wild Animal Sanctuary in Colorado was established to give sanctuary to large predators that have been ill-treated, illegally acquired, or must be given up. Their mission is to bring awareness to these animals and give them a safe and happy home. Visiting the sanctuary here can help support proper care for animals.
  3. Sand Dunes National Park: Towering dunes in a preserved national park can be seen in Southern Colorado. It’s known for it huge, towering dunes along with the beach that is present there during Spring and Summer.
  4. Mesa Verde National Park: Popular for its panoramic views of the land, this national park is most popular for it archaic, Puebloan cliff dwellings. The Chapin Mesa Archeological Museum can tell you all about the history of the Native Americans that lived there.
  5. Bighorn Sheep: The state animal of Colorado. The bighorn sheep truly captures the spirit of Colorado. These majestic, bold creatures brave terrain in the Rocky Mountains like they built it themselves! Some people will come to Colorado just to get a look at their massive horns and the way they climb mountains!
  6. Garden of the Gods: This ‘island’ of glorious sights located in Colorado Springs is a convenient, short drive from the city itself. Garden of the Gods has some of the most intriguing rock formations in the area as well as a beautiful walk along wild plant life.
  7. Denver Aquarium: Totally worth the visit in a landlocked state. This state-of-the-art aquarium has over 500+ species of marine life to look at. After the tour is over, if you’re in the mood for seafood, the Denver Aquarium has a pretty tasty seafood restaurant.
  8. Denver Zoo: One of the most popular zoos in the country. This zoo has some experience, being over 100 years old and sits on over 80 acres of land.
  9. Red Rocks Amphitheater: Admired for its impeccable acoustics, the Red Rocks Ampitheater is built out of a natural rock formations. It is the ‘go to’ place for popular musical artists in the Spring and Summer.
  10. Overnight rafting trip: One of the most dynamic ways to go camping is to make it into a whitewater rafting trip. You can cover lots of ground, get some adrenaline pumping, hike, have fireside stories, and then top it off with sleeping under the stars (I would recommend going with AVA for a rafting trip).

There are so many things to do in Colorado that it is almost a waste of time to list them all.
