Christmas may be over but there are still plenty of winter events taking place in the beautiful mountain town of Vail, Colorado. Here are a few must see events taking place in Vail this February!
The first event to check out is a must see for all music fans. The Vail Jazz Winter Series will be taking place on Feb. 2nd at Ludwig’s Terrace at the Sonnenalp Hotel. Doors open at 5:30PM and music starts at 6:00PM. Diego Figueiredo, a Brazilian guitarist, will be returning to Vail to entertain all you jazz fans. Diego fuses jazz, bossa nova, and classical music to create an interesting blend of music. Joining Diego on stage will be the Italian singer and songwriter Chiara Izzi. The lineup will also include plenty of other bands and vocalists. There will also be a second set starting at 8:30PM!
The next event to check out is CARNIVAIL taking place February 25th-26th. This New Orleans style celebration offers a fun experience for the whole family. Just because you are way above sea level is no excuse to not celebrate Mardi Gras like they do down in New Orleans. Locals and guests to Vail are encouraged to dress up in their Mardi Gras apparel and beads and take part in the fun. The event will include a variety of creole-style foods including crawfish, sausage, gumbo and, for those a little older, plenty of beer specials. There will be plenty of live entertainment options each evening as well!
Another event to not miss is the 2017 Burton US Open Snowboarding Championship. The competition will be returning to Vail Mountain Feb. 28th through March 4th. The best snowboarders from around the world will be competing to win one of the most prestigious Halfpipe and Slopestyle competitions. Athletes will include all of the top names including Mark McMorris, Kelly Clark, Jamie Anderson, and many more! After the competitions conclude for the evening there are plenty of live concerts with some great entertainers that are yet to be announced.
