Colorado-Keystone-skiingNow that snow is falling around the west, skiing and snowboard seems to occupy your thoughts more and more as the temperatures fall. For the powder hounds and park rats alike, the fall is truly anxiety ridden with dreams of endless powder runs and big freestyle booters. The worry of a dry winter always looms in the back of your mind. SKI Magazine does their best at guiding guests towards to the best corduroy-striped groomers, “flocked” tree runs, and huge hits while riding through park. This year’s best of the west proved fruitful, with Colorado coming in BIG for having some of the best resorts this hemisphere has to offer.

Copper Mountain, ColoradoKeystone starts off the list for Colorado with an overall rating of 22nd for the western hemisphere. Its family-friendly atmosphere offers amazing freestyle terrain, cat skiing and great greens and blues for the first-timers. The next Colorado resort up the list is Copper Mountain. Copper is similar to Keystone in the fact that the freestyle terrain could, arguably, be best in the country. They also boast great cat skiing and the best ski school service I personally know of! Breckenridge Resort is always one of the fan favorites, but was unable to break the top 10 for this year. Settling in at 14th overall, Breckenridge Ski Resort offers the steepest terrain in Colorado and has the variety to keep even the most novice ski or snowboard enthusiast changing runs through the weekend. Two resorts that were able to break into the top 10 for this upcoming season are, no surprise here, Beaver Creek ranking 10th and Vail coming in the strongest with a 7th place finish.
