Alpine speed skiing has had roots in Vail and Beaver Creek since the day Vail Ski Area opened for skiers in 1962. Founded by a ski racer, Vail has hosted numerous ski racing events since. Come be part of history and experience the fourth FIS Alpine World Championships and ride with Peak 1 Express to get there! Next to the Olympics, this is the most highly rated ski racing event. From February 2-15, over 700 ski racers from more than 70 different countries will be in Vail for the 2015 FIS Alpine World Championships and fortunately, access to this event is 100% free. While the actual competitions will be taking place at Beaver Creek, Vail is playing host to the ceremonies and nightly events. 

downloadThe ski races and events will be taking place on designated areas of the mountain which will leave more than 90% of the mountain open for skiers and snowboarders. Even if you’re not interested in the ski races, Vail, Beaver Creek and even Breckenridge will provide a a great atmosphere during this time! Here’s the lowdown on where to stay during the FIS Championships. 

Beaver Creek Village
