Breckenridge Ski Resort

Breckenridge Ski Resort is famous for its diverse terrain and fun filled après ski activities. With four mountains – soon to be five with the opening of Peak 6 this year – Breckenridge serves up a ton of skiable acres with everything from easy beginner runs to steep chutes of powder to keep every level of skier entertained. The resort also holds claim to having the highest chair lift in North America with the Imperial Express Superchair, which begins at 11,901 feet and ends at 12,840 feet.

Keystone Ski Resort

Keystone Ski Resort prides itself on being a family resort. The resort has plenty of beginner terrain for rookies to gain confidence. There are interactive parades every Saturday through the village, ending at the ice rink with hot chocolate and cookies waiting their arrival. A snow fort located on the top of the mountain welcomes kids to climb in, on, and through. Don’t be fooled by all of the activities for the little ones, with back bowls and perfect glades, there is a ton of expert terrain for the more experienced skier.

Copper Mountain

Copper Mountain is just down the road, 6 miles west on I-70 from Frisco. The U.S. Olympic alpine teams are doing their pre-season training at Copper this year, so you might get a glimpse! Copper Mountain offers a variety of terrain and excellent snow conditions.  Catch the free snowcat in Copper Bowl on limited days, ski top to bottom with the SuperB lift or hit up Union Creek for beginners.

Arapahoe Basin

Arapahoe Basin opened in 1946 and is known as “The Legend” The resort claims the highest skiable terrain in North America with a summit of 13,050 feet. It is known for its variety of natural terrain without all the fancy bells and whistles (and crowds) of the larger resorts. Still the “mom and pop” ski area of Summit County, A-Basin is also known for its big steeps accessible by lift. You won’t lose the family here because there is just one rustic base lodge at the bottom. In the springtime the base area turns into “the beach,” a big locals party.
