Everyone loves the Fourth of July in the mountains! If you are visiting the Rockies during this great American holiday, here are some great activities and events that you will not want to miss!
Frisco’s Fabulous 4th of July Parade:
Located on Main Street in Frisco, Colorado. The festive parade starts at 12:30pm at Madison Avenue heading down to 6th Avenue. If you are looking for a great activity before the parade Team Summit is hosting a pancake breakfast. (8:00am to 11:00am) Cost for adults is $10.00 and $5.00 for children 8 years old and younger.
Breckenridge Main Street Parade:
Starts on Main Street in Breckenridge at 10:00am. Parade line up begins at 8:30am on July 4th. In addition to the parade there will be plenty of family activities, live music and street art!
- 9:00 AM – Breckenridge 4th of July Garden Party (there will be mimosas)
- 9:30 AM Start – The Firecracker 50 Mountain Bike Race
- 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM – 36th Annual July Art Festival
- 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Family Fun Zone (Drum Circle, Kids Water Party, Pony Rides)
- 11:00 AM – 5:00 PM – Street Arts Festival: Spangled (Chalk Art Contest, Crafts, Beer Garden, Dog Fashion Show, and more)
- 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM – Free Concert Featuring THUMPIN’
- 8:00 PM – National Repertory Orchestra Concert
Keystone Stars and Guitars Festival:
This festival takes place from June 29 to July 4. There will be face painting and s’mores crafting. The Okee Dokee Brothers will be playing at KeyTop Overlook deck on July 1 at 12:00pm. A gondola ticket is required for this free concert. Visit Keystoneresort.com for line ups and schedule.
Vail America Days
Starts a 10:00am at Golden Peak. Will wind through the villages ending in Lionshead Village.

Greeley Stampede:
the Fourth of July in Greeley is a tradition unlike any other. With roots dated all the way back to the late 1800s, this parade is the “largest 4th of July Parade west of the Mississippi”. The parade will last 2 hours and feature floats, cars, bands, and plenty of horses! The Greeley Stampede will feature not one but two different fireworks displays! In addition to the parade and fireworks, there will be rodeo events, lice music, a demolition derby, food, and tons of activities for the children.

Additional Kids Events:
Breckenridge will be hosting a water fight on main street in Breckenridge with Red, White and Blue fire protection district from 1:00pm – 2:30pm or ride ponies from 1:00pm – 3:00pm in front of the Blue River Plaza.
Frisco is having their annual fishing derby 8:00am – 11:00am at Meadow Creek Park. Free event is for children 15 and younger. Must bring your own rods and bait!
Keystone has a family hike and crafts event on July 3. located at the Kidtopia Headquarters at 10:30am. Kite flying will be available at 3:00pm at the lakeside gazebo. Face painting and balloon artistry will be starting at 12:00pm at Decatur field.
