When traveling to Colorado, there might be an occasional question of what are some of the things you can do when adventuring through the beautiful rocky mountains. There are various things you can do when coming here, whether it is spending time outside or going on a rafting trip. Today I will be giving you 5 things to satisfy your wanderlust when traveling to Colorado.
Go to Breckenridge
There are always very pretty sights to see when traveling to Colorado, one of the first suggestions I have for you today is to go over to Breckenridge and take a bike ride around to the beautiful downtown. You could even go down to the lake to take in the spectacular views. You can rent the bikes through Arkansas Valley Adventures. You could even take your bike if you’re an avid biker! You could go for a nice afternoon walk. Anything that you can do to get outside and take in the scenic views would be an amazing way to spend your time in Colorado.
Visit Colorado’s Historical Towns
Another great way to solve some of your curiosity would be to go and look around at some historical towns. There are plenty of old mining towns like Leadville! There are some ghost towns as well if you are into the more spooky side of Colorado! Breckenridge is a great example of a historical town and to me personally is best seen in the winter! It resembles something out of a Christmas movie! There are plenty of places to eat and shop as well, when traveling to Colorado you better bring your appetite because there are plenty of places to eat!
Go Hiking in the Colorado Wilderness
If you are more of an outdoor adventure seeker, there are amazing hiking trails you can go on. Mohawk lake is an amazing hiking trail to go on, it is an easier trail for beginners. This beautiful trail is a 6.6-mile route beginning 2.5 miles south of downtown Breckenridge at the end of Spruce Creek Road. It ascends 1,700 feet past a breathtaking waterfall and several mining structures dating back to the late 19th century, reaching lower Mohawk Lake just shy of 3 miles from the trailhead. A short hike further up the mountain brings you to Upper Mohawk Lake, which sits in a bowl due east of Pacific Peak and has amazing views of the valley below!
Visit Rocky Mountain National Park
Another great place to go would be Rocky Mountain National Park. This breath-taking national park is just a few miles from the mountain town of Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the most popular national parks in the United States. The soaring mountain peaks, alpine lakes and meadows, forests, and abundant wildlife showcase nature at its best. It is an amazing view and is great for camping. You can also spend some time fishing in the beautiful lakes that are provided to you. This national park includes some of the most beautiful soaring mountain peaks, alpine lakes and meadows, forests, and some of the most abundant wildlife showcasing nature at its best!
