Thousands of people swarm to Breckenridge throughout the fall and winter months for some of the best skiing and snowboarding around. They leave their regular life back at home and become ski bums for a week. However, this season is not only best for tearing up the mountain, it is also prime football watching season! With thousands of loyal fans swarming Breckenridge one may wonder where the best place is to grab a beer and yell at a TV. After many months of tedious work of hopping from bar to bar watching the highlights and the lowlights of my team, I’ve narrowed it down to the best places to go for your viewing pleasure.
Ollie’s
With a large choice of HDTV’s surrounding the bar and tables to watch Ollie’s is going to be a great destination to watch your team fight for victory. If your team is not on the screen… don’t fret! You can just ask to switch one of the TV’s and the friendly staff will be able to accommodate this. They also have a large variety of draft beers and mixed drinks for your pleasure. Come in for happy hour or burger nights and get some great deals on some of the best food around.
Kenosha
Offering a NFL special for Sundays of $1 off all beers, $5 tailgate menu, Sunday Pick’em squares and a $4 Bloody Mary bar. Also includes a menu full of burgers, wings, nachos to make your game time experience even more enjoyable. Plus they have a Monday night football super bingo night with a chance to win cash and prizes.
Fatty’s
Not everybody loves football but who doesn’t like pizza and burgers!? Fatty’s is a great place to bring the friends or family members that aren’t that into the game but like to hang out and get some good grub and a drink. It also doesn’t hurt that they have 21 HDTV’s throughout the restaurant for your viewing pleasure.
Mi Casa
Known by locals as one of the best happy hours around from 3-6pm everyday they will have $5 pitcher, $1 margaritas, $6 wing basket, 3 tacos for $5! Plus free nachos for an hour starting at 5pm! If your game doesn’t happen to fall between this time period don’t worry because Mi Casa has “Guess the Score.” Each Sunday night you will have a chance to win a decent stack of cash (around $500) for guessing the final score correctly. You must be present to win, so sip on our margarita and cheer on your team.
Downstair’s at Eric’s
You might have had to bring your kids on vacation with you and leaving them in the rental house might not be a safe option. Fortunately, there is Eric’s! This downstairs paradise has over 20 HDTV’s for your viewing pleasure, a full-service bar, nice table seating for the family, and even an arcade! This way, after enjoying some of the best wings in town you can head to the bar and watch your team do their thing while the high energy kiddos can keep entertained in the arcade.
Napper Tandy’s Irish Pub
For a more remote location, head off of Main Street to a bar known mostly by locals. This Irish pub has a killer Sunday night football menu with cheap pitchers, cheap burgers, and some of the best appetizer deals around. They have several TV’s throughout the bar plus a pull-down projector for the big game. Get there early to save your spot and play a game of pool or darts beforehand.
Seems like you’re good to go for the game! Worried about the roads this winter? Give Peak 1 Express a call to schedule a shuttle and leave the stress behind.
