In the past few years, various runs, or races that benefit charities and raise awareness have become increasingly popular. One run in particular is known as the Color Run. The Color Run, in collaboration with Global Citizen, first started in March of 2011 to promote general health and happiness, after all everyone needs a reminder to step back from the chaos of their everyday life and enjoy it.

The Color Run is known as the original “paint race.” With this race being the first of its kind, it really mixed up the style and added a new twist to organized running. Basically runners run through landmarks during the 5k and then get different colors tossed on them to celebrate!

The first Color Run took place in Arizona. Since then it has expanded to over 150 US cities and internationally to over 50 countries as well. If you are staying in Breckenridge or anywhere in Summit County and are looking to partake in the “happiest” 5k out there then you are in luck. Coming to Copper Mountain April 11th is the Color Run’s Shine Tour!

Slightly different than your normal Color Run, this 5k is a snow run! Runners will participate on a groomed snow track. With rolling hills and a snow packed course, runners can expect a little bit more of a challenge than just your standard Color Run. With the stunning rockies in your view there will be certainly enough for one to smile about!

Registration is still open! If interested in joining and partaking in the largest event series in the world then act fast. Peak 1 Express will be happy to see you there!
