While many associate winter with many of the mountain towns, the end of March still marks the beginning of spring, regardless of whether or not we are still skiing. Here in Breck, we welcome spring with the Town of Breckenridge hosting a couple weeklong event called Spring Fever!
Spring Fever begins March 21st and lasts until April 19th this year and welcomes one of the biggest spring parties in the Rockies! This month long festival is returning to end the ski season with a bang! The event is complete with concerts and performances by artists such as Third Eye Blind and the Infamous Stringdusters! It is sponsored by Bud Light so all of these concerts are free and will take place throughout the festival dates at the base of Peak 8.
During the course of the festival there will also be several competitions and contests. The GoPro Big Mountain Challenge kicks off the festival on March 21st. Following this friendly competition of some of the best youth free riders in the state, is the Mountain Dew Throwback Throwdown. Bringing it back to 1985, before triple corks, you will be able to watch pro-snowboarders compete where tricks no more than 540 degrees rotation are permitted. Competitions run throughout the festival ending with the Breckenridge Ascent Series Final Race on April 15th.
Concerts, competitions, how could it get much better? Well what if this festival had some parties thrown in there? There are other great events such as the Breck Beer and Chili Cook-off and the Closing Day Luau. So Spring Fling offers many exciting events and ways to celebrate spring!
Just because the ski season is winding down does not mean the fun is ending here in Breck. Join us for concerts, competitions, and parties. Join Peak 1 Express, your friendly mountain shuttle for the end of ski season!
