It’s almost June in Colorado, which mean the snow is melting, the temperature is rising and residents of the mountain towns are trading their ski boots for chacos. As the weather heats up, the event calendar does as well. Here are our picks for June events to pencil in to your calendar.

 

  1. GoPro Mountain Games | Vailsmall

Once again Vail will be hosting the GoPro Mountain Games this June 9-12. The Mountain Games are the country’s largest celebration of adventure sports, art and music, featuring professional and amateur athletes from around the world. The athletes will be able to compete in cross-country and road cycling, sprint and extreme kayaking, raft cross, World Cup Bouldering, stand up paddle sprint and surf cross, dog competitions and more. Don’t forget to check out the concert lineup, with multiple shows happening daily. 

  1. Colorado BBQ Challenge | Frisco

This annual Frisco event kicks off with an evening concert on June 16, followed by 2 days of competitive barbecuing by about 70 cooks. Taste everything from pork, ribs, chicken and brisket to barbecue sauce, side dishes, salsa and desserts. Mark your calendars for June 16-18 for this delicious event!

  1. Lake Dillon Brew Fest: Live at the Fillmore | Dillon

Known as the official start to the summer in Dillon, Brew Fest is an annual event hosted by Pug Ryan’s at the Lake Dillon Amphitheater. This year the event is on June 18 and will feature brews from over 30 different breweries and microbreweries and music from Live at the Fillmore.

Summer in Breckenridge can’t truly begin until Bike Week. Spend the week partaking in some skills clinics, guided tours, mountain and road demos, trail riding and try out the newest rides fro Trek and Scott, as well as demo bikes from Shimano.

  1. Beaver Creek Rodeo | Beaver Creek

Now entering its 15th year, the Annual Beaver Creek Rodeo Series is a perfect family activity to round out a nice day in the mountains. Enjoy all the classic rodeo events, including areback & Saddle Bronc Riding, Team Roping, Barrel Racing and of course, Bull Riding. You can even get involved by signing up for the Calf Scramble, Mutton Bustin’ or Burro Racing. There will also be pony rides, face painting, a mechanical bool and food for purchase. If you are looking to go in June, mark your calendar for June 23 & 30th.
