boothsSince no one will be shreddin’ powder during the warmer months, summertime in Breckenridge is all about the community events. We all have all kinds of wonderful happenings here during the summer, from drop-in exercise classes to beer festivals! Each week is filled with more exciting and memorable events and activities than the previous one, and we have something that will grab the attention of people of all types.

Starting off with June! Summer in Breck is kicked off with a festival that celebrates the mining town history of Breck at the Gold Panning Championships. Get into it with Historical Tours, a ‘gunfight’ on Main Street, and the OH SO popular outhouse races! After being at this festival, you will really feel a connection to the town of Breckenridge!

Let’s not forget Frisco. Being that it is only a 10 minute drive away, Frisco has way too much to offer to put on the back burner of summer fun in Summit County. Summer in Frisco is started off with a sizzle. A local favorite annual event, the Frisco BBQ Challenge is a barbecue competition held on Main Street by the Kansas City Barbeque Society. Live music, games for kids, cooking demos and pig races will be all up and down Main Street! You won’t want to miss this exciting and delicious event!

Both Frisco and Breckenridge (of course!) will be celebrating Fourth of July. Trust me when I say that our little mountain towns know how to celebrate this holiday!

The beginning of July will be party central in Breckenridge! Shortly after Fourth of July, The Beaver Run Resort will be housing the Breckenridge Beer Festival at the base of peak 9. The celebration will feature brews from the Breckenridge Brewery, as well as tons of other breweries from Colorado!

In August, one of the big events here in Breckenridge is the Art Festival. The Breckenridge Main Street Art Festival will be decorating Main Street August 4th – 6th. This event will feature over 100 artists originating from various locations in the nation. Many types of art will be shown off, including ceramics, jewelry, paintings, wood, glass and sculpture.

Door-to-door shuttle serviceSummer here in Summit County is all about celebrating life with all of the culture that we can muster. People love to come to the mountains in the summer to celebrate and take it all in. Even in the summer, traffic can be a little crazy. Many people simply chose to make the trip here without a vehicle. Finding parking after getting through traffic is just one thing most people do not want to worry about on vacation. If at any point you feel like you can relate to this, you should look into taking a shuttle ride with Peak 1 Express to the mountains.
