With the end of the month fast approaching, we are all looking for good ways to ring in the new year with our friends and family.  If you’re planning on heading up to the high country, check out the following festivities that are happening on New Year’s in Breckenridge.

New Year’s Eve

Start your evening off at the Breckenridge Ski Resort for the Torch Light Parade.  From here, you can watch as the Breckenridge Ski and Snowboard school make their way down the mountain carrying torches to illuminate their surroundings.  Fireworks will shoot off about 9:00 PM, so you’ll have time to walk around town and grab a bite to eat before viewing the colorful display.  Grab a blanket and find a spot in town to watch the fireworks!

Plenty of places in town will be having an array of activities to celebrate the new year.  Enjoy a nice dinner at the Briar Rose, try out nighttime snowshoeing, head to Keystone Resort for night skiing,  or hit up one of the many bars along Main Street in Breckenridge for a drink.

Cecelia’s Bar is a fun place to do some dancing and try some unique cocktails.  For a more relaxed atmosphere, play some pool at Brooklyn’s Billiards on the south side of town.  Napper Tandy’s is a fun place to meet new people and check out some local talent with many live bands playing.  Most of the bars and clubs around town have drink specials and champagne toasts at midnight, so you can hop around and try a handful of them out.

New Year’s Day

The next morning, curb that New Year’s Day headache by grabbing some breakfast in town and hitting the slopes.  Columbine Cafe is a popular sit-down spot, or snag an egg sandwich from The Crown on your way to the gondola.  Plenty of trails should open up come January, so you’ll have your run of the less busy peaks on Breckenridge’s Ski Resort.

When you’re heading up to Breckenridge, let Peak 1 Express take care of your transportation.  Our highly trained drivers will get you up to Summit County or Vail Valley, then you can take advantage of the free bus systems in town or you hotel shuttle service.  With our shuttles departing 14 times during the day from the Denver Airport, there are many options to get you up to the mountains.  Book now before we run out of seats!
