Memorial Day Activities

On the way from Denver International Airport into the mountains, there is a small mining town called Idaho Springs. Idaho Springs is not only home to Beau Jo’s pizza, it is home to Clear Creek, a popular rafting destination. AVA Rafting & Zipline offers rafting and zipline tours for the whole family in this charming town. The Cliffside Zipline has features like a free fall and a surf zip, and is built right into the side of the cliffs. There is also rafting and has everything from class 2 and 3 with some unique features, such as passing by an original Gold Mine, to adrenaline-filled rapids on the lower part of Clear Creek Canyon

If you will be staying near Breckenridge, the Blue River runs through Summit County and  is so close you don’t even have to leave the comfort of the area. A trip down the Blue is a great way to spend a morning or afternoon with the family and make some memories no one is soon to forget.

If you’re heading to the Vail area, fear not, there are some amazing trips that run on the Eagle River right in the Vail area!  If you want to go for a stunning drive through the Rocky Mountains, head down to Granite.  There you can stay in some repurposed mining cabins before heading out for a day of top notch rock climbing or fly fishing.  If you’re not interested in water sports, go for a horseback ride through the stunning Collegiate Peaks

No matter what you fancy, the Rocky Mountains has an activity for you! If you are looking to hitch a ride up to the Rockies this Memorial Day, give Peak 1 Express a call at 855-GO-PEAK1 (855-467-3251) for the lowest rates available on airport transportation.
