download (2)Just in case you were wondering, Colorado’s ski and ride season is nearly at its end! What a sad, sad day it will be when one can’t choose from multiple resorts to go play. All is, however, not lost and after this next weekend (April 25-27) there will still be one, and possibly two resorts open where the dedicated skier or snowboarder can continue to get turns in through May. Even though Keystone, Breckenridge and Copper will all be closed by April 27, Arapahoe Basin and Loveland will keep their lifts turning well into Spring, so get your final ski days in now.

As noted in the prior section, today, April 20, 2014 is closing day for a couple of our favoritest Summit County resorts. Today will be Keystone’s last day of operation for the 2013-2014 season. So, if you would like to take a few more laps down to River Run or hit A51 for the last time until next winter, get out there and make some turns today!

Copper Mountain is also closing today, however, will be reopening the following weekend, April 25-27 for those of you whose fill of winter sports has not yet been met. With limited terrain open, you’ll have to accept runs that pretty much only return you to center village. Woodward’s park will also be offering only a limited number of rails, boxes and features.

Extended Season

Earlier in the year, Breckenridge’s upper management decided to extend their 2013-2014 season by one additional week! This immediately filled countless individuals faces with amazement and excitement. Unlike Copper Mountain, which, is only opening for one additional weekend, Breckenridge will be open throughout this week and next weekend (April 21-27, 2014). Basically what we’re saying here is that you don’t have to rush and speed over to Breckenridge in order to meet your days on mountain quota, just take your time and get up here sometime within the next 7 days.

In case neither of the above options work for you, there is still hope! Loveland Resort will be open until May 4, 2014, when it is scheduled to close for the season. This allows riders to still get in two full weeks of late season skiing at one of Colorado’s most loved ski destination.

Arapahoe Basin, as always, will be open the latest here in Colorado as they are scheduled to close for the season on May 31, 2014. I’m sure you’re thinking “that’s a long way off,” but honestly, the 43 days left until this date are going to be filled with plentiful sunshine and beautiful days. In order to take advantage of the best conditions, you’re going to want to get to ABay ASAP, however, there have been known to be late season dumps, so keep your fingers crossed!

Hopefully, this information has helped to relieve any tension that has built up within you as a result of ski/ride season coming to an end. Now you know you can have fun on the snow until the late, late date of May 31, 2014. Happy shredding from Peak 1 Express!
