Spending the holidays in Summit County this year? Bring in 2014 the right way with one of the area’s many New Year’s Celebrations. Just about every town in Summit is offering some sort of celebration bringing together locals and visitors alike. Here are five New Years celebrations in Summit County from us at Peak 1 Express:

New Year’s Eve in Breckenridge‘s Blue River Plaza

Celebrate in downtown Breckenridge as you watch NYC’s Time Square Ball Drop on a giant screen TV right in Blue River Plaza. Fireworks will be set off between Peak 8 and 9 and can be seen from all over Breckenridge. All of the the restaurants and bars will be open late but, be sure to make a reservation if you plan to eat dinner on New Years.

New Year’s Eve at Copper Mountain                                                                                                                                                                                          Breckenridge Torchlight Parade (LE)

New Year’s falls on the last day of Copper Mountain’s 12 Days of Copper. Come out and enjoy a torchlight parade, fire dancers, and fireworks. The festivities at Copper will run late and there will be activities for all ages during the celebration.

Arapahoe Basin’s New Year’s Eve in the Mountains

Enjoy a spectacular gourmet meal prepared by Chef Ryan Rybak at the beautiful mid-mountain lodge, followed by a Champagne toast and chocolate truffles at 10:00 pm for the East Coast New Year.

Torch Light Parade at Breckenridge Ski Area

Breckenridge Ski Resort will come alive this new year with the annual torch light parade. Resort employees ski and board from the top of Peak 9 while holding bright torch lights before ending at The Village at Breckenridge. This event has a beautiful effect on the dark night sky. You will be able to see the parade from anywhere with views of Peak 9 at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Be sure not to miss this sweet and delicious event! This celebration is a tradition and features 2500 pounds of chocolate crafted into a miniature alpine village. Some features of the village will be a working chocolate gondola, cascading chocolate waterfall, and even a six foot tall white chocolate Christmas tree complete with chocolate presents!
