The slopes at Copper Mountain, Keystone, Arapahoe Basin, Loveland, and Breckenridge are less than an hour and a half away traveling east. It takes approximately the same amount of time to get to Aspen, just the opposite direction from Eagle Airport.
The Eagle County Airport is extremely convenient. Air Canada, American, Delta, and United airlines bring passengers directly to the Rocky Mountains from cities including Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas/Ft. Worth, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/JFK, Newark and Toronto during the winter season. The south side of the airport is the Vail Valley Jet Center, where private aircrafts are permitted to land and park in a hangar.
Despite being smaller than commercial, international airports, Eagle County Airport offers the same quality services. The short term parking lot costs only $8 a day and long term just $6. Before boarding there are several options for food and beverages. In addition, Eagle Airport has retail shops to grab snacks, magazines, and even the last-minute souvenir. Trying to make the decision between Denver International Airport and Eagle County Airport? Factor in the cost of transportation for DEN as well as the additional time. Eagle Airport may be a quicker option, however, with the low price of shuttles from Denver Airport, it may not be the cheapest.
