Breckenridge and it’s quaint main-street town is home to tons of events throughout the winter, but the fun doesn’t die down in the summer. Throughout the summer months Breckenridge hosts tons of music, theater, and just good old family fun. Below you will find 10 can’t miss events in Breckenridge and in the surrounding areas that will be sure to make your summer all that more enjoyable, from Peak 1 Express.

August 5th/Community Campfire: Bring a chair, some snacks, and come kick back. This totally free event will meet at the Beyond Backpacking Headquarters, located on airport road, and then head up to Boreas Pass to enjoy a nice fire.

August 20th/Breck Bike Week: August 20th marks the start of Breck Bike Week. Focused around professional bike racers, this week will host high-end bike demos, led group rides, clinics, free bike tunes, kid’s races and much more!breck bike

August 22nd/Free Concert: Big Head Todd and The Monsters will be performing a free show at the Riverwalk Center.

August 22nd/USA Pro-Challenge Party: The day after the race ends you can relive the excitement and rewatch the finishers cross the line with the best view in town, the Barney Ford Lawn. With refreshments and a big screen broadcast of the race, there is sure to be fun to had. Make your reservations now!

August 31st/The Summit Foundation Great Rubber Duck Race: For the 27th year in a row and featuring over 10,000 little rubber ducks floating down the Blue River, Breckenridge Grand Vacations is sponsoring this event. With prizes awarded at every race to the top 50 ducks, there is no reason not to adopt a duck and  support the Summit Foundation.

 September 1st/Breck Crest: Originally starting in 1995 the Breckenridge Outdoor Education Center started this marathon,  half-marathon, or 10k course (your choice), all of which take runners into the Tenmile Range.

September 11th/Fatty’s Golf Extravaganza: Not exactly your typical golf tournament. Grab your friends, put on a costume, pick your clubs and enjoy the shenanigans that are sure to ensue at this event. September 12th/Oktoberfest: Kicking off Oktoberfest, Main Street turns into a mini-Munich with over two dozen food and beverage vendors. Complete with a keg tapping ceremony, Bavarian dancers, a 5k run, tons of German food, and polka music, you will feel like you’ve instantly been transported to Germany.

September 18th/Breckenridge Film Festival: Since it’s beginning in 1981, the Breckenridge Film Festival has celebrated the art of filmmaking by showcasing unique independent films and honoring featuring guests.
