As we continue to have an awesome season at the resorts in Summit County, with yet another powder day this morning, there’s some news on the horizon you might not be aware of: Breckenridge is open this year until April 21st! With such a late ski season at this popular resort that our office is nestled beside, there are many reasons to visit Summit County for an April ski vacation. Whether it’s for the legendary blue bird days of spring or because this is the only time of year you are able to take your vacation, our mountains have plenty to offer. Off mountain, there are several possible food specials to enjoy all across Summit County including 2 for 1 entree specials that can be found in the Summit Daily newspaper. There are also many end of season deals featured at most of the retail shops in the region, where you can sometimes find AWESOME deals including up to 80% off of current season’s winter apparel.
While the excellent slopes, food, and shopping can offer and appeal to most everyone, we’ve yet to really mention the best thing about visiting in April – less crowds! The month of March is
always very busy with most lodging places boasting 90% or higher occupancy rates while the Spring Break masses are in town. These crowds spill over to the lifts on the mountain causing
wait times of up to 20 minutes or more, during the busiest times. April has none of this – you can almost always ski through and directly onto the lift! Because of the lack of crowds, you can also find some amazing deals on lodging – many of the property management businesses in the county offer special deals in April that may include 3 nights for the price of 2!
Regardless of the reason, April is one of the best months to take advantage of this epic snow pack. And remember, no matter where you’re staying in Summit County, Peak 1 Express can get you to and from your vacation destination in comfort, style and safety!
