It’s one of the best times to visit Summit County – welcome to Spring Break in the Rocky Mountains! Spring is a bittersweet time in ski country as the lifts start to close and the warm summer temperatures start to move in. To celebrate the coming of spring and the end of another great ski season, there will be many musical celebrations happening all over the county. Expect to find some of the nation’s best acts performing in Summit, often for free!

Spring Fever

Spring Fever BreckenridgeBreckenridge Ski Resort is playing host to some incredible talent including The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, The Dirty Heads, 3oh!3, and Matisyahu. The performances are all part of the Bud Light Concert Series, a key component for Breckenridge’s month-long Spring Fever festival which started today, and will be taking place at the base of Peak 8 at Breckenridge Ski Resort. All concerts are free admission and will take place from 2pm-5pm.

River Run Rocks

Keystone Resort will also be holding spring events coupled with world class live music. First check out Elephant Revival at the Warren Station Center for the Arts on March 30th. Tickets at the door are $20 and can be purchases at www.warrenstation.com. To celebrate the end of winter and the coming of spring come take in a free concert my Robert Randolph and the Family Band. This concert will be held in in River Run Plaza from 3pm-6pm. With elements of American funk and soul and led by guitarist Robert Randolph, this performance will create a very lively atmosphere and is not to be missed.

Sunsation

Copper Mountain SunsationCopper Mountain will be holding its own spring celebration with its annual Sunsation Festival held in Center Village on closing weekend. This two-day celebration of spring features live music, competitions, and lots of fun in the sun! Headlining performers for the celebration include musical duo Matt & Kim and live band Ozomatli. Keep an eye out for more artist announcements in the coming weeks.

 

If you’re planning a spring ski vacation, don’t miss out on the chance to catch shows with your favorite musical artists. Most of these shows are outdoors, giving you the opportunity to enjoy some spring sunshine, and since the shows are also almost all free, it won’t break the bank.
