In addition to all the great skiing, March is an eventful month here in Summit County, Colorado. Get ready for great snow and lots of festivities as we head into the month of March. March is a big month for ski and snowboard competitions as well as dining events, and fundraisers so check the calendar to make sure you don’t miss out!
Copper Mountain Resort March Events
Special Olympics, March 3
This winter season marks the 25th consecutive year that Copper Mountain will be the proud host of the Colorado Special Olympics winter games. Check out events in alpine skiing, cross country skiing, figure skating, snowshoeing and snowboarding.
Copper Uncorked, March 8-10
The quirky celebration of wine provides unpretentious and casual wine tastings as well as food pairings. Events include the Wine-n-Wings Challenge, Vin & Din, and Burritos & Bubbly Breakfast.
O’Fuego, March 16
Copper’s signature event goes Irish for St. Patty’s Day. Enjoy fireworks, green beer, the annual Eenie Weenie Bikini contest and more.
USASA Nationals, March 29-April 10
This event is huge! Regional athletes vie for the title of national champion in snowboarding and free skiing events.
Easter, March 31
The little ones can search for the 50,000 hidden eggs in the Center Village Easter Egg Hunt. Older kids and adults can search for some special eggs hidden on the ski slopes.
Arapahoe Basin March Events
Fireman’s Fire Hose Relay, March 1
Teams of firemen take on a slalom style course linked together by 50 feet of fire hose. This event benefits the Burn Camps program at Children’s Hospital Colorado.
Rocky Mountain Freestyle Championships, March 8-10
See the best of the best in this three-day freestyle event. Slopestyle, RQS, and Devo all featured.
Moonlight Dinner Series, March 23
The theme for the evening is Scandanavia, featuring the cuisine of Sweden, Finland, and Norway. Take the chairlift to A-Basin’s Black Mountain Lodge at the start of the evening, and after dinner ride back down or bring snowshoes and take the ski trails.
Breckenridge March Events
Spring Fever, March 17-April 14
The month long celebration kicks off with a St. Patrick’s Day party plus food and drink specials around town .
Chili Cook-off, March 24
Breckenridge’s best chefs square off at Sevens restaurant for the ultimate chili competition. Try all the recipes and vote for your favorite.
Throwback Throwdown, March 30
The second annual Breck throwback halfpipe competition is being held at Breckenridge Ski Resort on March 30th. Watch as the best snowboarders in the world compete for a $10,000 prize on superpipe and a 5 foot mini half pipe modeled after the original halfpipe erected at Breckenridge back in 1985. On this section, only “old school” tricks are allowed so riders will have to get creative to win this competition.
Easter, March 31
Search for the 10,000 Easter eggs hidden across the trails of Breckenridge ski resort or head up the Quicksilver chairlift at 6am for a unique and spectacular Easter morning service.
Keystone Resort March Events
Blades and Bluegrass, March 6
Live music and pond hockey combine for a one-of-a-kind event. Take in the bluegrass interpretations of Iron Horse as they perform covers of famous rock songs by bands like Led Zeppelin, Metallica, and Modest Mouse. Then enjoy 5 v 5 pond hockey.
Base Area Luau, March 16
Celebrate spring-break Hawaiian style! Visit the Mountain House Base Area for pigs roasts, leis, live music, prizes, and plenty of snow.
