From exhilarating ski trails, to the tubing hill where the entire family is welcome. Keystone prides itself on incredible guest service and friendly staff, and visitors can take advantage of a vibrant main village as well as equipment rentals, lessons, and a wide range of kid-friendly activities. Keystone is also the only Summit County resort to offer night skiing.

Breckenridge Resort

Breckenridge Resort has long been a favorite to locals and visitors. With excellent trails from beginner to advanced, and a roller coaster over the snow, Breckenridge Resort provides endless fun and enough terrain to keep you skiing all winter. Be sure to wander down Main Street and enjoy the mountain-town feel of the quaint shops, boutiques, art galleries, and restaurants before heading back to Dillon.

Copper Mountain Resort

Want to escape the crowds, but still be able to experience a nice variety of terrain? Copper Mountain is located just a few minutes up the road.  This resort brings a new name to customer service and has naturally divided terrain providing beginner skiers, intermediate skiers, and expert skiers with their own sections of the mountain. If you have family that would rather not hit the slopes, the tubing hill offers thrills for all ages. With plenty of great shops in the Village at Copper you may find it difficult to leave!

Lake Dillon

Lake Dillon is a Summit County staple, especially in the summertime. You can head out on paddleboards, kayaks, sailboats, canoes and more, or rent a pontoon boat from the Dillon or Frisco Marina. With the beauty of the 10 mile range on one side and Swan Mountain on another, the scenery alone will make you want to stay all day.

Silverthorne Activities

Silverthorne has everything you need in Summit County.  It is within a half hour from Copper Mountain, Keystone, Breckenridge, and Arapahoe Basin while Vail and Beaver Creek are under one hour away. Aside from being so close to some of the best skiing in the nation, Silverthorne has lots of great outlets for all your shopping needs. Whether you forgot something at home or looking to take a break from a day on the hill, the  nearly 70 outlets have something for everyone.  In addition to the great skiing and shopping, Silverthorne offers plenty of nordic skiing trails as well as snowshoeing trails for experienced or novice adventurers. You can definitely find a trail to meet your needs of the day whether you want to go out all day or just for an hour.  After a nice snowshoe, drop by the natural ice rink.  With a warming hut that provides  a great view of the rink, bring some hot chocolate and snacks while you watch the kids skate.

Snowshoeing

While having all the conveniences of being in town, Silverthorne has plenty of  easily accessible snowshoeing trails.  Enjoy the Willow Creek Highlands Trail, an easy half-mile trail that is filled with incredible views. If you would prefer a longer hike the Willow Creek Highlands Trail runs into the White River National Forest trail system, where there are plenty of opportunities to view wildlife. Looking for more of a challenge? The Angler Mountain Ranch trailhead is quite difficult with a vertical climb of 1,200 over 2.5 miles!

Looking to get a good workout in or are the kids begging you to go swimming and to go down a waterslide?  The Silverthorne Rec Center has it all in its 65,000 square foot building including an aquatic center, gymnasium, the latest fitness equipment as well as an array of fitness classes.  Do you have young children? But don’t have anyone to watch them?  Not a problem with the child care offered while you use the facility.   You can either purchase a daily pass or a  membership ranging from a month to a year.

Grab your skates and head over to  the North Pond Natural Ice Rink  across from  the Silverthorne Elementary School.  This is the best outdoor ice rink in the county.  Bring your hockey stick for a game of pick up or some hot chocolate and snacks to enjoy in the warming hut.  The ice is open from dawn until dusk every day.  Though it is important that you remember your own gear as there are no rentals! A truly unique, and exciting for the whole family to enjoy!

Nordic Center

Whether you are an expert cross country skier or this is your first time, be sure to try out the free trials at the Nordic Center at the Raven Golf Course.The Raven is located in Silverthorne and has a range of trails for everyone ability level.  Try out the north trail if you are looking for a bit more of an adventure. The four kilometer intermediate trail is perfect for those searching for great views and a bit more of a challenge. The south trail provides a groomed path for beginners.  Also providing great views, this groomed trail will give you the experience you desire without having to work too hard.

Skiing and Snowboarding
Silverthorne is located in the center of Summit County making it easy to go skiing or snowboarding at several different world class ski resorts. Not to mention all of the great spots to grab a quick bite to eat on your way out to the hill. With so many great location such as the legendary Arapahoe Basin, Breckenridge, Keystone, or Copper, the most difficult decision you will have to make is deciding where to go spend the day!  Not to mention that all of these fantastic resorts are just a short drive away from Silverthorne, ranging from 15 minutes to 30 minutes.
