Summit County has many outdoor endeavors to offer, and the majority of them you can do for free! If you have your own mountain bike, obviously, you won’t need to drive, but with the Summit Stage, you won’t have to. All Summit Stage buses, from spring to fall, are equipped with bicycle racks on the front. This allows you to hop both you and your bike on the bus so that it can take you to any number of single track trail heads in the area. This way, you don’t have to pedal all the way up hill, just to come right back down.

Perhaps one of the most challenging of our suggested free outdoor activities, rock climbing has been a favorite local adventure for ages! Whether, wanting to set up a top rope, lead a climb or simply play around on the rocks (bouldering), there are so many possibilities that a mere walk out your door may have you scaling a rock face just to get out of the yard! Be careful, though, as you don’t want to fall and scratch your knee! That’s the thing about climbing…the hard part is the fall!
