Sunday, January 1: Movie It & Lose It 5K Run at the Gold Run Nordic Center on Clubhouse Drive begins at 11:00 a.m. The cost is $25 per adult and $15 per child. The race takes place on groomed Nordic trails, and participants may use snowshoes, Yaktrax or just plain old tennis shoes to race. You can rent snowshoes at the Nordic Center. Monday, January 2: Music on the Mountain Children’s Classes in La Cima Mall right below Burke and Riley’s on the second level. The cost is $45 per participant, and the classes take place at 11:15 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. The class curriculum is a mix or original and traditional songs in a variety of genres including folk, jazz, blues and boogie. Students will hear a range of musical styles to enrich their growing musical skills.

Tuesday, January 3: All Local Colorado Wine Tasting at D’Vine Wine’s Wild Women Winery. Made right here in Breckenridge, this wine is absolutely divine! Please call 970.453.3991 for more information.

Thursday, January 5: Grand Opening & Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at The Sloppy Dog at 500 Main Street, La Cima Mall, street level. Enjoy free beer and discounted food. Prizes too! Stop by between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 to take part in these yummy festivities. Please call 970.453.2434 for more information.

Sunday, January 8: Skating Party at the Stephen C. West Ice Arena located at 0189 Boreas Pass Road in Breckenridge at 1:00 p.m. Skate rental is only $5 and all proceeds from this event will benefit the Al Chaffee Memorial Scholarship fund for high school seniors. Come skate the afternoon away!

Wednesday, January 11: Wine & Cheese Wednesdays at Ridge Street Wine/Breckenridge Cheese and Chocolate begins at 5:00 p.m. at 304 South Main Street. Enjoy an assortment of free cheese and tapanades. Experience a variety of wines by the half or full-glass; bring old friends or make new ones at Wine & Cheese Wednesdays!

Saturday, January 14: Chilly Chili Cook Off at the Riverwalk Center at 3:00 p.m. Come hungry for this one and bring the whole family! Buy a ticket ahead of time for $15 or pay $20 at the door and enjoy chili samples from local and nationally-renowned chili cooks. This is one the whole family will surely enjoy!

Wednesday, January 18: Breckenridge Resort Chamber Ambassador’s Mixer at the DoubleTree by Hilton at 550 Village Road from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The cost is $5 for BRC members and $10 for non-members. This is your chance to see the breathtaking remodeled DoubleTree by Hilton.

Saturday, January 21: The Metropolitan Opera in High Definition at 10:55 a.m. at Colorado Mountain College located at 107 Denison Placer Road in Breckenridge. Enjoy “Enchanted Island” presented by the National Repertory Orchestra and the Colorado Mountain College.

Tuesday, January 24: Budweiser International Snow Sculpting Competition (ongoing for 4 days) will take place at the Riverwalk Center. Here, you will see huge blocks of snow transformed into beautiful works of art. Call 970.453.2913 or just stop by to see these amazing works of art. You can see fifteen teams from eleven countries sculpt snow into works of art.

Friday, January 27: Budweiser International Snow Lounge (ongoing for 5 days) at the Riverwalk Center at 1:50 West Adams beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Saturday, January 28: Snow Carvers at the Speakeasy Theater at 2:00 p.m. Fifteen teams from all over the world come to Breckenridge and have 65 hours to carve an elaborate work of art out of a 14-foot tall, 20-ton block of snow using hand tools only. This is one you really have to see to believe.

Budweiser International Snow Sculpture Grand Lighting at 6:00 p.m. at the Riverwalk Center.  All the sculptures will be lit up to make for an amazing lighting display, so you don’t want to miss this awesome Breckenridge event!
