Beaver Creek Loves Kids SpringFest is a family-friendly favorite in the high country. This year, SpringFest will begin on April 1st and ends on the 16th. For an event itinerary visit the SpringFest website.
The plaza in Beaver Creek Village will be decorated for spring with costumed characters available to take photos. The characters will be skating around the ice rink and performing fun skits. They will also read stories to the children, host fun contests, and lead the SpringFest Kids’ Parade from the Plaza Stage to Beaver Creek’s covered bridge. Each day’s activities take place during apres ski hours, between 3 PM and 6 PM.
Previous years’ events included a performance by the “Top Hogs”. The “Top Hogs” trained pigs show features tricks performed by Mudslinger and Digger. The pair of swine celebrities have entertained thousands all over the US; they even performed on America’s Got Talent. Their 30-minute act includes the pigs skateboarding and playing sports (soccer and basketball). Mudslinger and Digger also do celebrity impersonations of Stevie Wonder, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson, and more.
The ice rink will offer figuring skating shows at 6 PM each night of SpringFest. The rink at Beaver Creek will also host the American Juke Box Skate Night. Guests can join the pro skaters as they cruise and boogie around the rink to disco era music.
Saturday, April 15th Beaver Creek will host their Easter Egg Hunt at Creekside Park. The 25th annual “Eggstravaganza” starts at 10:30 AM and will have 5,000 eggs hidden for children ages 12 and under. There will be two different groups, one for children 4-years-old and under and the second for ages 5 through 12. The egg hunt is complimentary but parents should bring a basket for their child and a camera. Following the egg hunt will be photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny at Beaver Creek Village from 4 PM to 5:30 PM.
