Let’s jump right into the fun. Our local resorts play host to a ton of great events. Here are a few can’t miss winter events:

The Hartford Ski Spectacular is starting the list as one of the nation’s largest winter sports festivals for people with disabilities. With 800 registered participants each year, this week of ski and snowboard race training prepares athletes for national and international competitions. This event looks like awesomeness on the slopes! See these athletes in action from November 28th through December 4th in Breckenridge, CO.

30_Dew_Tour_Day_2_ShotsThe Dew Tour is an annual contest series that invites the world’s best snowboarders, skiers, artists and brands. The Dew Tour aims to change the world’s idea of average ski competition and challenge today’s standardized contests. It’s an outdoor event full of self-expression, style and a culture that locals and visitors can both get into. Come watch some of the top athletes in these categories! Big snow and big air is what you can expect with this high flying tour! Check it out on Peak 8 in Breckenridge, CO starting December 8th and running through December 11th.

Colorado Family Ski Month will be the first of its kind in Keystone, CO. This event will offer family-sized adventures including the World’s Largest Snow Fort, Bigfoot Adventure Walks, skiing under the stars, fireworks, village parades, as well as the Kidtopia Mountaintop Spectacular. Kidtopia will include nightly firework displays, a torchlight ski parade led by Keystone’s Ski & Ride School, and a mountaintop celebration where guests can enjoy free snow tubing, snow cat photo opportunities, live music, hot cocoa and fireside stories with Santa. Let Keystone bring Santa to you on the slopes for a one-of-a-kind hangout December 1st – December 3rd!

Over at Vail exciting events are endless! One of the favorites is Vail Holidaze. From December 16th – 18th and on the 31st, Vail is the perfect place for family celebration during the holiday season. The town as well as the mountain come to life with lights, sounds, and excitement. There will be a tree lighting ceremony, lantern walk, New Year’s Eve torchlight ski down and fireworks, all of which are free and open to the public.

Beaver Creek hosts a popular Beaver Creek’s Winter Culinary Weekend. The Beaver Creek Winter Culinary Weekend offers interactive cooking demonstrations, wine and spirits events, gourmet wine pairing dinners and endless hours of phenomenal skiing. Enjoy this event January 19th – January 22nd Eat! Drink! Ski!!!

Subaru Winterfest in Copper Mountain brings out those who want to try the latest and greatest gear, as well as those who love Subaru. Guests can demo the latest equipment, earn giveaways and hot chocolate, support the local adaptive sports chapter No Barriers, participate in new activities and take a group photo in the giant Subaru Adirondack chair.
