If located in the Front Range, you are probably all too familiar with the scorching hot days of Denver. While us folks in the mountains do not see too many days over 80 degrees, occasionally we will get a few and when we do, we need to cool down! Here are six places you should see on these super hot days of the summer.

DSC_0001Upper Colorado River (really any river!): Splash around, enjoy the thrill with your friends and family while whitewater rafting. There are rivers all around Colorado where you can have fun in the sun. There is really no better way to cool off than by floating the Upper C and cliff jumping. So hop on the river, paddle till your hearts content and keep those smiles coming.

Lake Dillon: Rent out some SUPs or better yet invest in a kayak. Go out with a friend for the day or even an hour! With Lake Dillon being centrally located in Summit County, you are never more than a 15 min drive from hanging at the Marina and enjoying the water front.

Woodward at Copper: Summer heat got you missing the winter? Never fear! Dust off your snow gear and hit Woodward! Copper Mountain conserves enough snow from the winter to ensure a summer setup and it is awesome. On those hot days, snow is going to be the best way to cool you down!

DSC_0932Ziplining: Feel a light breeze on a hot day by zipping through the trees with AVA. With so many zips in a two and half hour tour,  you’re not only sure to stay cool, but have a blast as well!

Mt. Princeton Hot Springs: Hot springs, on a hot day? Don’t be fooled, the name is misleading, as not all there pools are hot. In fact they have one pool that even has a water slide! Water slides are great for every age!

Green Mountain Reservoir: This spot is a local’s favorite. Do not miss out on the fun this summer. You can either take a boat out on the water or hang by the shore and partake in some cliff jumping! Spending the day at Green Mountain and then camping is sure to be memorable.

Beat the end of summer heat with anyone of these great places to see on the hottest days of summer!
