With 5,200 skiable acres and known as one of the largest mountain resorts in America, Vail is a skiers winter haven. Between the never ending groomed runs, coupled with seven massive back bowls spanning miles across the White River National Forest, there is certainly plenty to explore! With this much terrain it is no wonder why Vail is one of the top ski destinations in the United States. Lodgepole
: Located on the front side of Vail, this steep groomed run is a great way to wake up the legs and get moving.

If looking to really test out your leg strength and endurance head over to Riva Run. This black diamond trail is non-stop moguls top to bottom.

While the front side provides great fun for skiers, what would be a trip to Vail without getting into the back bowls. Vail believes everyone should have their bowl experience and grooms at least one run in each bowl. If heading to the back besure to check out Poppyfields. Located in China Bowl, this trail runs the entire length of the bowl and truly allows you to experience the vastness. Another great trail is Emperor’s Choice, found in Tea Cup Bowl. Providing unparalleled views of Blue Sky Basin, this is truly a stunning trail.

Blue Sky Basin is Vail’s newest area and is divided into two sections, Earl’s and Pete’s, named after the founders of Vail. On the Pete’s side there is a trail called Grand Review. This lengthy trail has tons of drop offs to add some excitement!
